Non-toxic Skincare routine

As of lately, I’ve really been trying to fine-tune & dial in my skincare/body-care routine. I’ve never had a major issue with my skin & always take the time to make sure I’m taking good care of it, but when life gets busy it can be easy to let these habits fall to the back burner. It’s so convenient to just run into your local supermarket & grab whatever product is available & cost-effective. However, one of the most important things I was able to take away from all of my schooling is the importance of not only what you put IN your body, but what you put ON your body. I think this concept is overlooked a lot of the time. Our toxic load can be directly effected by the body care and make up products that we use. And most of us never really think about this. I know we’ve all heard how terrible most mainstream brands of deodorants are and how the use of them leads to an increased risk of Alzheimers, cancers, etc. I see people all the time preaching how they use an all natural deodarant, but still use products that are full of toxic ingredients.

So I wanted to make a little guide here, to show you some of my staples, some inexpensive products that are widely available (and still consist of high-quality ingredients), & how to check to see what YOUR daily products are made of and their effect they may have on your health. First of all, I want to mention a website that I’m sure some of you have used before, or at least heard of; The Environmental Working Group (EWG.org). They offer a ton of articles on all things health related. The best part though, is they have a database on the site where you can search products & brands you use (from hair care, to skin care, to household products) and see the health concern rating based on the ingredients used. It’s a really eye-opening way of seeing how easy it is to come into contact with toxins on a day to day basis without even realizing it.

Now that, that has all been said and done, let’s get into the fun stuff! These products are all daily staples fo rme! I’m obsessed and haven’t found a better routine yet. Below each product I linked links to where you can purchase them if interested! (This isn’t sponsored by any company/brand. They are just products I truly love & purchase with my own money).

COCO KIND SKINCARE

Rosewater Toner

I use this every morning. After washing my face I spritz a couple sprays of this all over, let it soak in, & then apply chia oil. It smells amazing, makes your skin feel so fresh, and I’ve really noticed a difference in my complexion

Raspberry Vinegar Toner

I typically use this toner at night. It has a strong vinegar smell, but is great for skin with blemishes or those that are prone to acne & blackheads. I SWEAR by this stuff

Chia Oil

Ahhhh  the chia oil. My holy grail. I use this stuff twice a day and it is my favorite product. You can use it on literally anything – hair, skin, cuticles, etc. Coming from someone with dry skin, this stuff is ultra-hydrating & doesn’t break me out unlike other oils .

Next, are my favorite make up removers. The first one is my go-to, however the second option is definitely more budget friendly & still works great! These two products are EWG Verified, which means they are made with NO health-concerning chemicals & are held to the highest standard.
